THE 2013 VASCO DA GAMA:

Hearty CONGRATULATIONS to Nigel Milln and crew on their magnificent win on “SKITZO”.

BOAT SHOW, MSC WEEK AND LIPTON:

Dates have been finalised. This year everything is happening back to back. A friendly reminder to our Lessees and Renters on the International berths: –
you will be required to move your boat out for the duration, effective Monday 24th June.

The Durban International Boat Show runs from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th June.
MSC Week commences on Saturday 29th June. The Lipton Cup starts on 7th July.

You may return your boats from about the 17th July. Any queries, please speak to Malcolm.

INSURANCE:

A friendly reminder: ALL boats on the Marina need to be insured. Please would you ensure that your vessel is insured and let the Marina office have proof for your lease/ rental file. Thank you.

BAIT TRAPS, ROD AND TACKLE BOXES:

There have been a few enquiries. Please note that these are only permitted on the Commercial line.

CANCELLATION OF RENTAL AGREEMENTS:

Please give Adri at the office 30 days notice, in writing (email: information@durbanmarina.co.za) if you wish to cancel your monthly rental agreement with the Marina (i.e. if you are planning on removing your boat from the Marina and do not want the mooring kept open for your return).

Sad News from Malcolm’s Desk

Durban Marina is sad to advise our Lessees and Renters of the death of one of our long-standing Lessees.

Gary Warren, whom many of you know, passed away on Sunday (10 March 2013).

Gary owned the catamaran “Gazza”.

The Board of Directors, Management and entire Staff of the Marina extend heartfelt condolences to all of Gary’s family and friends.

Gary will be sorely missed.

There will be a service on Friday (15 March 2013) at 14h00 at SunnyRidge Farm, D246, Cato Ridge.

Updating of Durban Marina Walk-on Security Disks

The Durban Marina is in the process of doing a yearly “clean-up” of the security disk system which will entail the purging of all entries on the current system and updating it with only the current lessee and renter information.

It has become a necessary exercise as the system has been overloaded with old and incorrect information.

This will enable the Marina to have a greater control of who enters the walk-ons and thus tighten the security.

All disks will require reprogramming as of 1^st March 2013. Only two disks will be reprogrammed per boat.
