From Malcolm’s Desk – August 2011

A warm welcome to our new Lessees: Mr R. Balmakhun and Mr Steve Langton. We wish them Happy Sailing and a long and fruitful association with the Marina.

SPECIAL EVENTS DURING JULY:

Another successful Boat Show has been and gone. We would like to extend a special “Thank you” to all those who assisted with moving their boats.

“Well done” to all the participants of the MSC week and Vasco Da Gama race. Both these events took place in very difficult weather conditions!

DEBIT ORDERS:

The first Debit Orders were successfully deducted during July. We would urge all our Lessees and long-term Renters to consider utilizing this system, which makes life so much easier for everyone.

ACCOUNT REFERENCE NUMBERS:

Tracy has asked that all Lessees and Renters who are paying their Monthly Levies/ Rentals per EFT (or depositing their monies at the Bank) should PLEASE quote their Pastel Account Number as their Reference on their Payment. This will make it easier for her to process their payments to their right Pastel Account (some payments are received without any reference whatsoever). Thank you.

ELECTRICITY:

The electrical problems on “A” and “B” line continue and these are being investigated.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT:

Please note that ALL boats in the Marina area need to be certified as sea-worthy and registered with the Port.

TENDERS:

A reminder that Tenders are not to be left on Mooring space. Please utilize designated area for Tenders only.

FENDERS:

Please mark your Fenders! When we find them floating, we can return them to you…

REMINDER OF OPEN FORUM MEETING:

Our Lessees are reminded that the Directors will be giving general feedback at an Open Forum meeting this Saturday (6th August 2011) at Royal Natal Yacht Club (Trafalgar Room) at 10h00.

Should you wish to attend but not be able to, you may email your apologies and concerns to Gillian: sales@durbanmarina.co.za

CONGRATULATIONS:

… are due to Mr and Mrs Levy (Derrick and Suzanne from Boating World). Attached is a lovely photo of the happy couple on their wedding day!

Regards,

Malcolm
